Objectives

The project involves the conversion of an existing building into a functional bank facility.

The primary objective was to construct a secure vault within a confined basement, beneath an exposed and load-restricted ground-floor slab. The structural elements — walls, slab and cover — had to be engineered to satisfy international banking classifications, All activities also had to be coordinated with concurrent building transformation works to avoid operational disruption.

SolutionThe engineered solution uses high-security reinforced concrete walls, a specialised slab cover, and targeted foundation strengthening to safely carry the newly imposed structural loads. For intrusion resistance and environmental protection, the installation incorporates steel security tang bars, a certified Chubbsafes Centurion EN 1143-1 Grade VII vault door, security-rated ventilation provisions, and full waterproofing to the vault floor and exposed slab to prevent moisture ingress.
